Some things to wonder:

1) The distance between the Earth and Moon is 384,400 km
2) The diameter of Sun is 13,94,100  which is more than 3 times the distance between the Earth and Moon.
3) Diameter of the Earth is 12,742km more than 3 times that of Moon
4) Radius of the Moon is 3,474 km
5) Sun spins but not as a solid body, rotates more at equator and less at polar regions

6) the Sun - in fact, our whole solar system - orbits around the center of the Milky Way Galaxy. We are moving at an average velocity of 828,000 km/hr. But even at that high rate, it still takes us about 230 million years to make one complete orbit around the Milky Way! The Milky Way is a spiral galaxy.
