Title: Dynamic Multipoint VPN (DMVPN) - How it is used?
Post by: certforumz on November 17, 2015, 06:23:59 AM
DMVPN stands for Dynamic Multipoint VPN and it is an effective solution for dynamic secure overlay networks. In short, DMVPN is combination of the following technologies:

1) Multipoint GRE (mGRE)
2) Next-Hop Resolution Protocol (NHRP)
4) Dynamic Routing Protocol (EIGRP, RIP, OSPF, BGP)
3) Dynamic IPsec encryption
5) Cisco Express Forwarding (CEF)

Dynamic Multipoint VPN (DMVPN) is a Cisco IOS Software solution for building scalable IPsec Virtual Private Networks (VPNs). Though it doesn't seem to be proprietary solution, it requires Cisco devices to implement at this point of time.

Rather run an app like Logmein. You would have to do some port forwarding to a computer otherwise. And never liked the security problems of that.
