CertExams.com, the leading practice tests provider, released a major update to CCENT (Short for Cisco Certified Entry Network Technician) exam simulator (exam code: 100-105). The practice tests consist of testlets, simlets, and router simulations as encountered in the real exam, and consists of 300+ very relevant questions with answers.
The revised exams consist of several updates when compared with the old exam topics. These include

  • For the CCNA R&S exam topics published in 2013, Cisco completely removed RIP. Now it's back, with version 2 only
  • OSPF has been moved into ICND2, with no mention of OSPF in the ICND1
  • Configure and verify LLDP
  • Configure, verify, and troubleshoot static IPv4/IPv6 routes (host routes)
  • Compare and contrast LAN designs and architectures

The following topics have been moved to ICND2:

  • Cisco IOS upgrades and recovery (SCP, FTP, TFTP, and MD5 verify)
  • Using CDP and LLDP for device discovery
  • Licensing
  • Password recovery and configuration register

by and large, there is some amount of enhancement in the topics covered in the new exams, which is expected. The return of RIP is inevitable, as it was a mistake to remove the topic in previous version of CCNA. The introduction of eBGP is a little surprise, but with MPLS and route redistribution in MPLS WANs using Ethernet over MPLS, BGP protocol became very prominent.
